Gorillas in the mist...

This years marks for the 40th anniversary of the groundbreaking work done by Dr. Dian Fossey. 40 years ago she set up camp in Rwanda's Virunga mountains to research mountain gorillas.

Baobab Expeditions provides a guided tour that allows you to get up close to these beautiful creatures. Lead by John Fowler, Dian Fossey’s former Karisoke Research Center co-worker the tour is a once in a lifetime experience.

Generally speaking, ecotourism focuses on local culture, wilderness adventures, volunteering, personal growth, and learning new ways to live on the planet; typically involving travel to destinations where flora, fauna, and cultural heritage are the primary attractions." -- Wikipedia.com 2007
